Handhelds

Postby Ginger Haack on Fri May 02, 2008 4:41 am

My PDA was taken off to get a new battery. It came back devoid of all data that I had entered. (It's a long story.) I have a backup of it in my desktop. I have plugged in my PDA, but my system says it doesn't recognize the device.
Do you know how I can get past that problem and into my desktop to syncronize (or restore) my data?
I'm pretty sick about this and would greatly appreciate help.
PDA - HP h1910
Desktop - Compaq Presario (Yes, I know it's old.)
System - Windows XP
Email - ghaack159@gmail.com
Mother's maiden name - Small
Thanks very much for all the work you do to benefit us tagalongs.

Ginger:

You will need to install a Driver for your PDA device. I would assume the PDA came with a disk that had you to install software and a Driver for the PDA.
You will need to re-install the Driver from that disk.
If you do not have the disk, then go to the PDA web site and download the Driver for your PDA and install it.

Good Luck.

You didn't say what PDA it is. If it's a Palm PDA you need to go through the initialization of the PDA. Be sure to give it the same name as it had before or it won't access the old archive after connecting to the computer.
