The weather is getting nicer, the desert is about to bloom and your Computer Club is going strong. As noted in the last letter, with many new classes, new equipment and exciting interesting meetings we are adding new members every week. Just this past month at our Coffee Chat on “Free Stuff” on the internet there were 84 attendees of which 33 were non-member guests (potential members). The next “Coffee Chat” open to all SCG residents should draw as many with the main topic being “Managing Digital Pictures”. Tell your non-member friends about these discussions, I am sure many take digital pictures and would like to attend. All are held in the Hopi Room in the Chaparral Center at 8:30 AM.
Our General Meeting this month on March 3rd at the Cimarron Center also should be very interesting. The speaker will be Marcus Stevens from the new, 1st in the country Microsoft Store in Scottsdale. He will be speaking on Windows 7, he plans to explain how you can navigate with 7 to get the most out of your PC. In addition, he will discuss Windows Live a free suite of software from Microsoft designed to connect you to your family and friends, next door or across the world, easily and at no cost. Do not miss this meeting!
Grand Computers will be participating in SCG’s Arts and Crafts Fair on March 13th. There will be special displays demonstrating Macs, Digital Scrapbooking & Graphics, Financial Ed, Memoir Writing, Model Airplane flying and our many computer classes. Come and again bring your friends to show what the Computer Club is all about.
This month we thank all the wonderful Volunteers we have that make the club what it is with the annual Volunteer Dinner, entertainment and door prizes. Those eligible for the evening should all have received their invitations by now. Please respond promptly so we will know how many to prepare for. If you did not get an invitation and think you should have, let me know right away. The event will be held in the Gila Room at the Cimarron Center on Friday, March 12 with a cash bar opening at 5:00 and dinner at 6:00.
