Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. Starting January 1, I will take on the role of President of our Grand Computers Club (GCC). I have been a member of GCC since 2005, when I assumed the Mac SIG Facilitator's position. I also held the GCC Secretary's position for three years, Monitor Director for one year, and Vice-President for one year. In those seven years I've seen our club grow and adapt to changes within our membership and our community. We hope that we will continue to see that growth in 2012.
January means winter class registration time. The class schedule is on-line now at www.grandcomputers.org; volunteers can register on-line on January 2 and the rest of you can register online on January 3, starting at 8AM. If you need help with registration, come to one of three classes on January 4: 9AM, 10AM, and 11AM. And if you still need help, regular registration will be in the classroom on Saturday, January 7 from 9AM - 10:30AM. We have outstanding classes for both PC and Mac users. See Education Director John Nuerenberg's article in the newsletter for more information.
We are always looking for volunteers, especially for monitoring at the front desk, instructors and instructor assistants. Our club is only as good as its volunteers!
A reminder that Office Max has a Retail Connect card available for all residents of Sun City Grand that gives a great discount on most items, including printing. To get your card, go to SCG's web site, www.grandinfo.com, and click on the box near the middle titled SCG Info. On the info page scroll down to see Click here to see the Office Max Discount Card. Then scroll to the bottom of that page and print out the card. Cut it out, front and back, and take it to Office Max and they will laminate it for you.
