Prerequisites:

• Have activated Android smartphone.
• Know the basics of unlocking the phone.
• The phone should be less than 6 years old.
• Android Smartphone Basics class or equivalent skill level.

Objectives:

1. Add, save, and edit contacts.
2. Learn to access voice mail.
3. Manage In Case of Emergency (ICE) information.
4. Make, answer, merge calls, video calls and customize ringtones.
5. Send basic and group text messages and attach photos/files.
6. Enter and edit events and notifications in the Google Calendar app.
7. Add invites to events and sync with other devices.

Description:

In this class, we will review the operations of an Android smartphone, focusing on managing contacts, telephone functionalities, messaging, and calendar use.

You will get ample hands-on practice time to ensure you are comfortable with these features. While we will primarily use the Samsung user interface, we will also demonstrate other interfaces as appropriate to provide a comprehensive understanding.

Google Apps will be our primary tools for demonstrations. We will explore how to efficiently use additional features such as setting locations, managing notifications, and utilizing repetition functions within your calendar.

By the end of the session, you will be well-versed in your Android smartphone's essential operations and advanced features.
