Objectives:

  1. To learn the basics of tagging: starting, levels, exporting to GEDCOM or report, clearing.
  2. To learn to use Legacy's search features: setting search conditions, multiple conditions, visible tags.
  3. To learn to create lists & reports (charts, books, relationships); e.g., family group sheets for tagged individuals, combining multiple tags.
  4. To use internet searches for finding and sourcing family information.

Description:

Legacy Family Tree software, version 9, will be used in the class.

(www.LegacyFamilyTree.com). This software runs on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 10 and 11 systems

This Intermediate Legacy 9 course provides in-depth practice on many of Legacy's reporting and searching features. Students will use a case study to correct locations from a Master Location List. The various reports available in Legacy will be displayed by the students to include Family Group Sheets, Ancestor and Descendant Charts, Descendant Books, Questionnaires for gathering family genealogy information and other various forms during the class. The report formatting options will be explained and demonstrated as students produce the various reports. Internet searches will be used to find family information that will be used as sourcing information in our example family file.

This course is taught for Windows 10 and 11 even though the class will be taught on Windows 11 computers

Please note, Legacy does not run-on Mac Computers.
