Adding E-reader Apps to Mobile Devices

Materials: Cellphone, tablet, laptop, iPad, Mac

Objectives:

  1. Understand the new e-reader apps (Kindle, Nook, Google reader and Apple iBook) setup and synchronization on your device.
  2. List sources of e-books commercial and free archives.
  3. Install all 4 e-reader apps on either tablets or cellphones applications as well as synchronization between web sites and device (cellphone and tablet) applications and or the related accounts.
  4. Synchronization of your devices accounts with the e-reader provider website and cloud libraries.
  5. Customize e-reader setups on devices for use of eyesight needs, reading style and school requirements for those taking courses in public high school, night school, community college and universities.
  6. Review legal aspects of licensing e-books, relative state and federal requirements when the owner sells devices or his or her estate wishes to reclaim the books under probate.

Description:

The purpose of this class is to help students learn how to install e-reader apps on mobile devices that require more than the basic installation performed from the Google Web Store or Play Store, Microsoft Windows Store, or Apple Store. It will also present info on how to set up application updates and backup, plus synchronization of applications across all operating systems (Windows, Apple iOS and Android).

Note: All cell phone applications and all non-telephone PC-related apps have alternative versions that can be installed on Windows and Apple iOS system devices.
